First Show With The New Material...In The Wild Wild West Philly

The Fikshun played our first show with the new material in West Philly! We opened with some of our original stuff for our fans. The 1st new song we played was Thrift Store Lovin'. Its a song about finding the perfect flannel shirt in a maze of cheap and bedazzled clothes. The next song we debuted was Urban Biking Extravaganza, it's about the difficult life of a lone bike messenger in the streets of Philly. The next song was Kinky Sexy Hipster Chick, it's about a one night stand after a crazy dance party. We closed on our epic dance ballad Fear and Loathing in Brooklyn, because we all wish we lived there. The album will probably be done in a week, and released shortly after that. There weren't many pictures taken from our show, but there was one good one of me on the mic.

Hopefully there will be more shows in the future.

It Hit Me Like a Can of Beer

So after the phillies won last night, thousands of people gathered on Broad Street to celebrate.

As my fellow The Fikshun members were running down Broad Street a flying objects came out of the air. This object hit me in the head, and splattered liquid all over my face (sexual!)...and my cut off jeans. This object was a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer. Right then I realized what the album artwork should be, it was brilliant in its sheer irony. Since we are hip, and the drink of choice for hipsters in PBR, why not have the album art work our own variation of PBR. I'm not saying that this is an advertisment , because we'll never sell out to the man. Which is why were ironic, by selling out to the man we're not selling out to the man...i think. Well here it is kids! the album artwork for Does This Album Suck? Maybe!

Recording the Album: Does This Album Suck? Maybe!

So The Fikshun is almost done recording our new album, Does This Album Suck? Maybe! It's been a crazy experience. A lot of drugs and sweat are going into this album...just kidding (just weed, maybe some aderol). We have this new crazy electro/noise/indie rock sound, there's not much like it any where else. We all keep arguing about the album artwork. Pat and Nick want to put all of our faces on the artwork, so people can put a face to the name. Dillon wants it to be a lolcat, because it would be ironic, cause we're not as cute as cats. I have some ideas up my sleeve, but they're not read to be expressed, I keep my artistic visions hidden until they're ready (the world just won't understand). Well until then, enjoy some pictures of all of us during the recording process.
